Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She's also an accomplished public speaker. Feminist Frequency was founded by Sarkeesian. It hosts video clips featuring commentary and analysis of the depictions of women in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning feminist journalist from Canada and a blogger. She is the author and director of executive for Feminist Frequency A scholarly, non-profit website that explores representations of women in popular culture narratives. In her efforts to break down stereotypes that are associated with women in pop media, she is also working to address issues relating to targeted harassment women and different classes of individuals online. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in the field of political and social thought at York University. As a public speaker, she's well-known and has been a speaker at TEDxWomenXOXO as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Inquiring about gender and feminism since at an early age, she created her own website Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was she was still at University. She had a plan to start a web-based series on gender representation in video games and ended up being the victim of a harassment online campaign.
