Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born April 28, 1967) is an American actor and a singer. Wuhrer began her career as she was in her teens. Her most well-known role is for her character Maggie Beckett on the TV show Sliders, as well as in the role of Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the thriller-comedy film Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was raised within Brookfield Connecticut as the daughter of Karin Noble who was employed as a cashier, and German American Andrew Wuhrer. There are three siblings. As a teenager She performed in nightclubs and would sneak out of the house to sing. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School at the age of 13, she pursued a degree in drama at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the renowned Uta Hagen. She was born a Brookfield local was born in Brookfield Connecticut, on the 28th of April 1967. Kari is the daughter of the father of a German American and a German-American mother. Kari was born in the family of four. Kari was a nightclub singer as teens, sneaking out of her home to perform. Kari started acting in the Wooster school aged 13 and then went into drama school at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University Marymount Manhattan College and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art under the famous Uta Hagen. Kari stepped into acting as a teenager, and her first break on television was 1987 on MTV's Remote Control.
